Follow Friday

Yippie!! It's my favorite day of the week...FRIDAY!! :)

I am so excited about this weekend! My best friend since, well.. forever, is coming in town AND it's Labor Day weekend! I feel like Labor Day is kind of the end of Summer. So, of course you have to end Summer with a great cookout with family and friends. And that's exactly how I am planning on spending my weekend! :)

This week's Follow Friday goes to Judy from Judy's Beauty Blog!! I just adore her blog! I mean, seriously, go look at how adorable it is and look at the AMAZING pictures she takes! I feel like I am actually looking at the item in front of me instead of looking at a picture of an item. She does really good reviews as well. So, go check out Judy's blog!!

So how are you planning on spending Labor Day weekend?

What to wear: College Football Days

I am a big college football fan and I love being stylish, so why can't you have the best of both worlds?! Well, I am a firm believer that you can! With college football starting this weekend, I thought it would be fun to create a few different outfits to support my favorite teams without actually wearing a shirt that has a big "T" on it or a Gator.

I bleed orange and blue...yes, even though I am from the Volunteer State- I am a HUGE Florida Gators fan. My husband is all about some Tennessee Vols, so it is a big day at our house when the Gators play the Vols!
 (ahem September 15th)

So these two outfits are more casual for the Tennessee Vols. I decided to use the same t-shirt for both outfits, but change everything else.

Here is the casual outfit using the Florida Gators colors. This would definitely be very comfortable at a football game or if you are just hanging out at your house watching the game in your living room.

I definitely wouldn't wear this outfit to a TN football game, but if you want to still show your support for your favorite team at work or somewhere you need to dress up... you can!

I love this outfit for the Gators! It's very stylish, but still supporting the team with the blue and orange.

So are you excited about College Football starting this weekend?
What are your favorite things to wear to support your favorite team?

P.S. Have you entered Tawny's and my giveaway yet? There is only a couple of days left,

Review: Boscia Make-Up Break-Up Cool Cleansing Oil

I have been using Boscia's Makeup-Up Break-Up Cool Cleansing Oil for about 4 months now. Before I tell you what I think about it, let me tell you exactly what it is. It is a cleansing oil that is made to dissolve your makeup and purify your complexion.  It is made for all skin types- including sensitive skin!

It is formulated without:
  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Synthetic Fragrances
  • Synthetic Dyes
  • Phthalates
  • GMOs
  • Triclosan

Well, now that you know a little more about it...let me tell you what I thought. I bought this solely for removing my eye makeup. I had never used an oil based product to remove my makeup because I have very sensitive skin. It does an amazing job at removing eye makeup! I usually put about a pea sized amount on a cotton round and apply it to my closed eyelid. A little goes a long way, so you really don't need more than a pea-sized amount for each eye. I hold it there for about 20 seconds and TA-DA all makeup is removed! If I did a smokey look that day, I hold it for a little longer than 20 seconds.

I still don't use it all over my face. I am still a wee-bit scared of putting oil all over my face, but I have read a ton of reviews on MakeupAlley where girls with sensitive skin LOVE it to remove the makeup all over their face.

It has a minty smell to it, so that can be a good thing or bad thing depending on if you like minty smelling products.

If you do get it in your eyes it will sting a bit. It will also make your eyes a little cloudy, but it goes away after a second or two. I am terrible at trying to multi-task and usually end up with stuff in my eyes, so I am speaking from experience. ;)

Price-  $26 at Sephora

Ingrediants: Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polyglyceryl-10 Diisostearate, Polyglyceryl-20 Hexacaprylate, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Leaf Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Dextrin Palmitate, Menthol, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Copper Chlorophyll, Water/Aqua/Eau, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Butylene Glycol, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Dipalmitate.

She gives really great product reviews and is very informative. She also has a YouTube (found here), so check that out while you are looking at her blog!

The Sunday Social: Old School

Sunday Social

Linking up with Neely and Ashley again for The Sunday Social! This week the questions are all about OLD SCHOOL!

1. What were you like in Middle School/HS? (Pictures)

Both of these pictures are from my Senior year in High School. I couldn't find any pictures from Middle School. I had BLONDE hair and definitely spent way too much time tanning!

Middle School- I was all about the sports! I ran track and cross-country, played softball, basketball, and volleyball.
High School-  I was a member of FBLA, Marketing, and Student Council. I was very preppy!

2. What were your favorite past times?
My best friends and I always went to the mall and hung out on Friday and Saturday nights before we could drive. Once we started driving, we would hang out downtown and would just drive around listening to our music really loud.

3. What songs were you obsessed with?
Anything from Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera.

4. What fashion statement do you look back on and cringe?
Well, I think the biggest thing in high school were those collared shirts from American Eagle. I think I had one in every color and all of the ones in stripes.

5. Who was your celeb crush?

 Kenny Chesney!

6. What were your favorite TV shows/movies?
These are the only ones I can think of on the top of my head, but I'm sure there are a MILLION more...

Shows- 7th Heaven, Laguna Beach, One Tree Hill
Movies- Mean Girls, She's The Man, Clueless

What were you like in Middle/High School?

I would love to see your pictures from Middle School or High School. So, come join the link up!!

Review: Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H

I went to Sephora a little over a month ago and asked them to help me find a new foundation. I was tired of the MAC one I had been using. I wanted something new, something fresh. The sweet little Sephora lady (I say little because she was seriously 4' tall) recommended the fairly new Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation. Once she applied it to my face I knew I had to have it. Goodbye my ol' faithful friend, MAC! Hello Lancôme :)

I don't know how true the 24 hour wear is since I don't think I have ever wore my makeup for a full 24 hours. It does last from the moment I get up in the morning for work until the moment I take it off when I am getting ready for bed. It is buildable and very easy to blend. Even though it is medium to full coverage, it feels very light on your skin. I love that it has SPF 15 in it and is oil-free, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic. It has a matte finish to it, so I would recommend this for combination to oily skin. I don't really think it is not moisturizing enough for dry skin. I love the pump applicator. It really helps you get only the amount you need without wasting a ton of the product.

I am the shade 110 Ivorie C - Which is the 2nd lightest shade they have. I am a little pale thing. haha

Blended in.
Ignore the weird shiney spot on my had...It's a scar from when I burnt my hand on an oven when I was very young. It always looks shiney in pictures..weird.

Cons:
Price
At Sephora it is $44.

Packaging
It is in a glass bottle. Even though it looks very nice and classy I am a very clumsy person. I am so scared I am going to drop it and the foundation and glass will go EVERYWHERE!

So have you tried Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24H?
If so, What did you think?

What is your favorite foundation?

Shabby Apple Affiliate

Dresses from Shabby Apple

I was recently asked to be a Shabby Apple Affiliate. I had never heard of this company before so as soon as I finished reading the email they sent me I started researching all about them. I found only great things about the company. It is made by women for women. Their goal is to make women of all sizes feel beautiful and feminine no matter what they wear. Being an affiliate for their company means that I can eventually offer y'all discount codes and possibly hold giveaways with some of their items. I do get a small commission if you click on their link from my blog and purchase something within a certain time frame.

Shabby Apple is best known for their dresses- which might I add are absolutely adorable! They also have skirts, blouses, jewelry & accessories, and swim & fitness for women. For the women that are pregnant they have an adorable maternity section and clothes for after you have your beautiful baby. If you have a daughter, they have you covered! They have sizes 0- 6mos and on up with some of the cutest clothes. Shabby Apple also has bath and beauty items such as nail lacquer.

My favorite thing about the company is that they offer a certain percentage of their sales to charities for women and children. How can you not fall in love with a company that does that?!?!

Here are a few of my favorite things from the site...

And how adorable are these sweet little outfits?!!

Go check out the Shabby Apple Website to see more of their fashion and other goodies.

If you do go to their website, let me know what your favorite item is.

Happy Shopping!! :)

Sunday Social: All About Food

Happy Sunday! I am seriously not ready for the work week to begin. The weekend needs to slow down, so I can enjoy it for just a little while longer. Since it is Sunday, you know what that means...It's time for the Sunday Social with Ashley and Neely.  Have you linked up yet? If not, please come and join us! It's a lot of fun getting to know other bloggers and reading everyone's answers to the questions. This week the questions are all about the good stuff....FOOD!!

1. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
definitely seafood! I am a huge seafood person. My dad was raised in Florida, so ever since I can remember my dad had us all eating every kind of seafood there is.

2. What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Mac -n- Cheese. I love just making some Easy Mac for a snack..quick & easy! I seriously eat some pretty much every single day. My husband is so tired of Mac -n- Cheese. haha

3. What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
hmm...probably octopus.

4. What foods do you avoid at all costs?
onions! I hate onions. YUCK!

5. What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Egg in a Hole or Egg in Bread (there is about a million different names for it) my best friend's mom used to make it for my best friend and I almost every single morning during the summer. I practically lived at her house for several years. If you have never heard of it, google it! It is so delicious!!! I would always try to make it, but mine never turned out as good as hers.

6. Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.

Parmesan Baked Salmon
Recipe can be found HERE.

It is so easy to make and is delicious! There really isn't a story behind it except that my husband and I love salmon and this was actually the very first thing I cooked for him when we were dating. Try it out and let me know what you think :)

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! What are some of your favorite foods?

Amusing August Blog Hop: Week 1

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am doing a really fun post today by linking up with one of my favorite blogs, A Brunette Duet. Stephanie and Laura are hosting the "Amusing August" Blog Hop every Tuesday for the month of August. Come join the fun and get to know other bloggers a little better by linking up!

Week 1's question-

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

Probably the biggest embarrassment for me was my very first day of my freshman year of high school. I stayed after class a few minutes to talk to my teacher, so by the time I left her classroom most of my classmates and upperclassmen were already downstairs in the commons sitting down eating their lunches. As I was walking down the stairs my foot somehow slipped on one of the steps. Not only did I tumble down all 20 stairs..there was a senior that was walking up the stairs that I somehow (I still don't really know how this happened) grabbed and brought tumbling down with me. Of course wouldn't you know when this happened the lunch room magically became very quiet so that every single student, which there were at least 300, in there was able to witness this. I felt so bad for the guy that I took down with me. Every time I saw him for the rest of the school year he would walk to the opposite side of the hallway or stairs from me. I guess he thought I might do it again.

So what has been your most embarrassing time? Join the link up and tell us :)

Review: L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balm

Over the weekend I was on the hunt for a new lipstick/lip balm. My lips were a little dry, but I didn't want to wear chapstick..I wanted a pretty color to my lips, so I went with a balm. I was lured in to L'Oreal Paris' Colour Riche Balms because of their adorable packaging. I had such a hard time choosing which shade I wanted. They all looked so pretty! I decided to go with Caring Coral. This was the first time I had tried any of the L'Oreal balms so I was curious to see if the actual product was as nice as the packaging.

First what they say:

Indulge your lips with Colour Riche Balm. This tinted SPF 15 lip balm provides a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a full 8 hours of continious hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long- and keeps conditioning even after it's been removed.

Available in 8 shades: Pink Satin, Rose Elixir, Tender Mauve, Heavenly Berry, Plush Plum, Caring Coral, Nourishing Nude, and Caramel Comfort.

What I say:

The Caring Coral is such a gorgeous color! It is very sheer, but can be build-able. I did feel like my lips were very moisturized after using the balm. It didn't last for 8 hours like they say it is supposed to though. It has a very lovely smell to it, almost candy like. The packaging is beyond adorable. It has a very classy look to it. I love the fact that it has SPF 15 in it. I do wish there was more of a color selection though since there are only 8 shades.

Overall:
If you are looking for something very pigmented, then this is not the product for you. If you are looking for something with a hint of color and moisturizing, then it is definitely worth your money. I only paid $5.97 for this at Wal-Mart. I will be purchasing this product in the different shades.

Ingrediants:
Active (W/W): Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 3%. G848249 Inactive (W/W): Polybutene, Octyldodcanol, Ozokerite, Isopropyl Myristate, Petrolatum, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Polyethylene, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Synthetic Florphlogopite, Alumina, Benzyl Alcohol, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Acrylates Copolymer, Fragrance. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Iron Oxides, Red 7, Red 22 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Carmine. F.I.L. B41366/3.

Have you tried this balm? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
