Review: Younique's Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

Hey loveys! So just like the Kardashians the 3D Fiber Lashes Mascara from Younique is literally EVERYWHERE! You can't get on Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook without seeing pictures of girls with lashes that practically reach the top of their forehead. Okay, maybe I exaggerated a little bit about their lashes touching their forehead, but you get the point. All of these girls are going on and on about how long their lashes are and how they will never use a different mascara again. Well, when they make a claim like definitely catches my attention and I have to see what all of the fuss is about!
So I invested in this magical mascara to check it out...

Younique is a company that is like Scentsy, Thirty-One, and Origami Owl. It is a direct-sales company that sells makeup and beauty products. They sell almost exclusively through the use of social media. The 3D Fiber Lashes is gluten free, vegan, cruelty free, and does not contain any harsh chemicals. It comes in a case that looks like a sunglass case...well, it does to me at least. It has two parts to it...the transplanting gel and the black natural fibers. I really like the look of the product. The case is very sturdy and does not feel cheap at all. I thought the same thing about the wands on both the gel and the fibers. I was very impressed with the product when I first saw it.
It made me even more excited to try it out.

Here is how you use the 3D Fiber Lashes:

Step 1: You apply a thin layer of any black mascara that you want to. Let it dry.

Step 2: Apply the transplanting gel. I personally would only apply to the middle of the lash and to the tips. Stay away from getting too close to the eye.
While the gel is still wet you want to immediately do step 3.
Step 3: While the gel is still wet you want to apply the natural fibers. Focus ONLY on the tips of the lashes only. (I am speaking from will know why in a few seconds...keep reading).
Step 4: You want to apply the gel again to set the fibers in place.
You then will want to go in with a eyelash comb and separate your lashes. You will have spider lashes that are all clumped together if you don't.

the fibers

The reason I say in the directions to only apply the gel to the middle of the lash to the tips only and the fibers ONLY on the tips is because it will definitely fall into your eyes if you don't. When I first got the mascara duo I couldn't wait to have voluminous, long eyelashes so I piled the gel and the fibers the entire length of my eyelashes. I ended up with so many fibers in my eyes. My eyes were burning so bad and were extremely red. It looked like I had pink eye. Not only did my eyes sting but I ended up having the fibers all over my face throughout the day. I constantly had to check my face all day long to remove the fibers. I was very unhappy with this product. I honestly thought that this product was not for me and swore I was going to throw it away when I got home. Well, I pampered my eyes that night with eye drops and a cold pack. The next morning I woke up and my eyes were not burning and didn't look like I had pink eye any longer. I went to the internet to see if other people were having the same problem I was. I did find other reviews having the same problem, but then I found someone (sorry can't remember who it was) say that you should only apply the gel from the middle of the lashes to the tips and the fibers only on the tips. So I decided to give it a try. I am very glad I decided to give this product a second chance because this was the key factor in making this product work...well, for me it was! Once I applied the gel and the fibers this way I got those amazing long lashes without the pink eye look or the stinging eyes. The fibers do feel a bit heavy on your lashes, but it isn't uncomfortable. With this method, I still had a little bit of fall out of the fibers on my face, but no where near as bad as I did he first time I tried it. I didn't have any problem removing the mascara. It came off fairly easy with my eye makeup remover. I got so many compliments on my eyelashes when I wore this mascara (the 2nd time). I was told it really made my eyes pop and seriously had at least 5 people ask me if I was wearing fake eyelashes. They didn't believe me when I told them that I wasn't.

So do I think this duo is worth the $29 Younique charges for it? YES!
I have spent that much on name brand mascara before that did not give me half of the length the 3D Fiber Lashes does. I do wish they could completely stop the fall out of the fibers though.
